Complexity

In this week of learning, I have gained only a slight understanding of what makes something complex. Generally the word complex means that something has more layers to it than just the surface. Kind of like the quote: “there’s more than what meets the eye”. I’ve come to understand myself and others around me just a little more by seeing their complexity.

It is no shock that everyone is in some way complex and unique from everyone else. It is in everyone’s nature to be their own person. I have observed lately that there are people that have different kinds of complexity. Take example the lunch room. People sit with their group of friends and have a fun time eating their food and taking a break from regular classes. Pretty simple right? Wrong. There are so many gaps to this generally accepted ideal. I always see numerous people sitting in their given corner just eating by themselves and it makes we wonder why they prefer that solitude over company. But then again, people wanting the company of others is just a norm that is forced on society. There are always outliers that don’t work in the specific conditions. And in this case there are many. It is the various personality types that manipulate their behaviors and desires. Why this is the case is unknown and can only be said as an occurring element in the vast world of complexity and personality. Complexity is variety. It is defined as having more parts to the puzzle. Being difficult to understand and put together. Being unique. And it is this sole word that defines every human being in the world.
